드라이클리닝을 하다 보면 거의 매일 세탁물에서 염색이 빠지는 것을 보게 된다. DLI의 사고 의류 자료를 보면 제조업자 측 잘못의 1번이 바로 솔벤트에 녹는 염색과 색소 문제이다. 물론 솔벤트 안에 남아 있는 염료는 드라이클리너의 문제이다. 사고 의류 자료를 보면 드라이클리너 측 잘못의 11%가 염료와 때의 재침착 문제였다. 따라서 드라이클리닝 시스템에서 솔벤트 컬러의 중요성은 아무리 강조해도 모자란다.

실크 직물은 아직도 많은 드라이클리너에게 문제를 일으키고 있다. 필자의 사고의류 분석실에는 산화 또는 스팟팅으로 인해 탈색한 실크 의상이 많이 들어온다. 염색의 견로도는 제조업체의 염료 및 염색 방법에 따라 달라진다. 염색 견로도가 낮은 실크 직물을 안전하게 처리할 수 없는 게 아니지만, 인스펙션, 스팟팅 및 클리닝 방법이 달라져야 한다. 인스펙션 여러분이 백화점 등을 방문해 전시된 실크 의상을
