Sky Supply and Equipment held its 20th anniversary Open House last October 21st and 22nd. Factory representatives from Union, Sankosha, Miele and Kreussler were present to answer questions from over 200 visitors.
“Now that the pandemic is over and to celebrate our 20th anniversary, we planned our first ever Open House,” said James Yoon, CEO of SKY.
SKY moved into a brand new warehouse of 13,000 sq. ft. for this occasion and every visitor was presented with $150-worth gits.
Sankosha revealed its new Press Fee Finisher and Automatic Folding Machine for the first time in America. Press Free Finisher uses steam, hot air and hot plates to give you a very high level of finishing. It can process up to 380 clothes an hour.
Automatic folding machine can fold various kind of clothes and folded clothes will be fed to a conveyor.
Union showed of its no-cooking, no-steam and no-water dry cleaning machine. “If I were to open a drycleaner, this is the machine I would buy,” said Tom Sheridan, Union’s Western Region Sales Manager.
This Open House also showcased Miele Professional wetcleaning system, co-developed with Kreussler Chemical. “Our system debuted in 1991 and it allowed the use of ‘Professional Wet Cleaning’ under the Care Label Law,” said Paolo Rocha from Miele.
“If you convert to wetcleaning, WA state will give you a grant of $40,000,” said James Yoon. “It can cover almost all the cost of purchasing 75 lbs. waster and 100 lbs. dryer.”
“When we first started installing Miele system, the first 10 stores took a lot of sales effort,” said Mr. Yoon. “But once the words of mouth spread, the next 40 units were a breeze.”
