The man broke into Stadium Cleaners on Jan. 2 and took five or six Moncler coats valued at approximately $10,000, according to police.
Sam Baligan, one of the owners of Stadium Cleaners, told 12 News the dry cleaning business has been in his family for decades.
“We’ve never had a problem like this, especially with me being a retired police officer,” the 78-year-old said. “I never thought it would happen … but it did.”

Baligan knew something was wrong when he noticed the back door was unlocked the next day.
“I always lock it,” Baligan said. “I saw pry marks on the door. I figured something was up, so I checked around and saw coats were missing.”
“I guess the guy looked through the whole conveyor and took what he wanted,” he continued. “He never touched the register.”
Baligan said the coats the suspect stole were the most expensive items in the building. He’s since installed his own security cameras to protect his business.
He’s urging anyone with information to come forward.
“It really upsets me,” he said. “I wish I could’ve caught him, but it wasn’t meant to be. Hopefully now they’ll catch him … his face is all over.”
The suspect was last seen walking down Flint Avenue with the coats under his arm, according to police.
Anyone who can identify the suspect is asked to contact Detective Salvador Sanchez by calling (401) 318-6962 or emailing ssanchez@cranstonpoliceri.gov.
