Fire inside Pressed Dry Cleaners causes $40K in damages

[texomashomepage.com – 2026.09.15] The Wichita Falls Fire Department is investigating the cause of a fire that damaged a dry cleaning business and a Subway restaurant.

On Monday, Sept. 14, at 11:01 p.m., the WFFD responded to the strip mall in the 3700 block of Fairway Boulevard for a structure fire.

At the scene, firefighters saw smoke showing from Pressed Dry Cleaners and found fire inside the business’s break area and workstation. The area where the fire was found was on the shared wall with the Subway located next door.

It took firefighters around 15 minutes to put the fire out, and Assistant Fire Marshal Jody Ashlock said smoke and water were in both businesses. Fans were deployed to clear out the smoke.

Pressed Dry Cleaners sustained approximately $40,000 in damage to the facility and contents, and Subway sustained an estimated $7,500 in damages.

Both businesses were empty at the time of the fire, and no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation at this time.
