Mr. Bob Edwards from A.L. Wilson Chemical explains how to remove ink stains.
[Dye Stain Removal on the spotting board]
- Prepare dye stripping solution: Water 95%, YellowGo (titanium sulfate) 3% and RustGo (rust remover, acid) 2%. Add enough RustGo to change black solution to light green.
- Apply the solution directly on the dye stain.
- On white garments, heat with steam
- On colored garments, test if the base color goes away with the dye stain.
- If the base color fades, neutralize with ammonia or alkali. In most cases, the base color will return.
- Flush and finish
[Dye Stain Removal – bath method]
- Prepare dye stripping solution in a bucket: Water 95%, YellowGo (titanium sulfate) 3% and RustGo (rust remover, acid) 2%. Add enough RustGo to change black solution to light green.
- Water temperature: 27℃ (80℉) ~ 65℃ (150℉). The hotter the water, the stronger the stripping action
- With white garments, you can go as hot as you want. The solution can be more concentrated as well.
- On colored garments, use lower temperature and shorter soaking time. Check frequently if the base color fades.
- If the base color fades, neutralize with ammonia or alkali solution. In most cases, the base color will return. Thicker fabrics require longer neutralizing time.
- Flush and finish
[Dy Stain Removal – washer method]
- After you fill the washer, add YellowGo (titanium sulfate) and RustGo (rust remover, acid). Add enough RustGo to change black color to light green.
- If the base color fades, neutralize with alkaline soap. In most cases, the base color will return. Thicker fabrics require longer neutralizing time.
- Rinse and extract.
