[apnews.com – 2021.06.04] 지금까지 당뇨 치료제로 사용돼 온 약이 미국에서 체중감량유도제로 4일 승인받았다. 미 식품의약청(FDA)은 덴마크의 Novo Nordisk 사가 생산하는 당뇨 치료제 semaglutide의 고용량판인 Wegovy를 장기적 체중관리제로 승인한 것이다.   제조사가 후원한 연구에서 Wegovy(위고비)를 맞은 사람은 평균 15%, 약 34 파운드(15.3kg)의 체중 감소를 보였다. 이들은 14개월에 걸쳐 꾸준한 체중 감소를 보인 후 정체 상태에 들어갔다.
