EZ Eco Filter makes it possible to maintain perfect solvent quality for less than the price of a cup of coffee a day. It not only replaces the traditional cartridge filter system, but also gives you distillation-like quality.
“As you know, my Ecotech dry cleaning machines do not have any traditional filter system,” said ES Kim, its developer. “That’s why Ecotech dry cleaning machines do not have any solvent odor problem.”
“The biggest problem with cartridge filter system is the fact all the contaminants from clothes are stored in the filter housing for 6 months or longer,” points out Mr. Kim. “Even if you put in brand new solvent, the second it passes through the filter housing, it gets contaminated.”
Contaminants in the filter housing is a perfect breeding place for odor-causing bacteria.
When you distill solvent, all the contaminants are left behind in the cooking tank, completely out of the solvent stream.
EZ Eco Filter allows the user to check the condition of the filter and replace its filter media whenever it is necessary. EZ Eco Filter uses Tonsil powder and D-E powder as its filter media. You can also ad activated carbon.
Tonsil powder, unlike other filter media like carbon, can adsorb fatty acid and NVR in the solvent, giving you distillation-like solvent quality. Traditional cartridge filter cannot remove fatty acid and NVR.
“The biggest drawback of traditional filter system is its maintenance cost,” explained Mr. Kim. The cost of buying new filters, disposing old filters and buying more solvent can be quite high.
“I have visited many plants with no-cooking machines and most of them have one or more filter housing empty,” said Mr. Kim. “It speaks in volume about the prohibitively expensive filter maintenance cost.”
With EZ Eco Filter, less than the price of a cup of coffee a day is enough and there is no waste disposal cost.
The only caveat is the fact that the user has to maintain the filter, daily if necessary. In a usual setup, a regular check up every 3, 4 days is enough. You can do this check up in 5 minutes or less.
