Kelly Harrop says just three minutes after she received a notification her dry cleaning was delivered, she opened her front door to find it missing.
“In the film, she looks right at the doorbell camera while she’s grabbing my laundry. She walks down the steps and goes straight into a car parked across the street. Someone else was driving,” said Harrop.
In the video captured by Harrop’s ring doorbell camera, you see a woman wearing a red hat gather bags of clothing from Harrop’s front door.
“It was almost immediately after it was dropped off. Within three minutes, it was picked up. It almost seems like someone was either watching for it or following them,” said Harrop. “I texted both of my neighbors to make sure they kept an eye out for their packages. They said that was the first time they heard of this happening over here.”
Harrop says the stolen wardrobe items cost between $1,500 and $2,000. She says only one bag was left behind, her undergarments. A Columbus Police detective told Harrop this incident is very odd.
Harrop filed a police report but doubts her clothing will be recovered. Instead, she is warning others.
“Make sure you are in communication with your delivery drivers and out there the second they arrive! If you can pick things up from them, I would opt for that because you never know how quickly personal items can be gone, especially laundry.”
